Pain, Grief, Fear and Sorrow
by Barbara Philbrook

Pain, grief, fear and sorrow.
Father provide the grace to get me through till tomorrow.

Pain from when I wake up each new morn,
till I retire at night too weak to go on.

Grief over a loss too great to bear,
I must remind myself constantly that You care.

Fear of whether I will be able to cope,
what empowers me to survive is Your blessed hope.

Sorrow over things I have said or done,
I am so grateful for the forgiveness of Your Son.

I can't imagine a life without Your grace,
life for me would be too difficult to face.

Each day upon arising I surrender to You,
asking for sufficient grace to get me through.

Each night I in gratitude retire,
not having any thought or fear of whether I will expire.

I trust You Father to do whatever is best,
and that I keep the faith is my only request.

Pain, grief, fear and sorrow all real,
but overcome by Your love which I continually feel.
