Pain And Exhaustion
by Barbara Philbrook

Pain and exhaustion, these are my lots in life.
Oh I've also known some trials and strife.

Now there are times I've felt sorrow over these,
but mostly they have brought me onto my knees.

Being on my knees has led me to the Father,
where I've learned that Jesus' life was oh so much harder.

No matter what it is that I go through,
Jesus suffered so much more for me and you.

I needn't face all of this alone,
Jesus sent us a Comforter the Bible has shown.

We've been given grace sufficient to meet any trial,
that this is true there is no denial.

There is nothing we are too weak to face,
since Jesus came and died in our place.

Nothing is asked of us without Him opening the way,
since we invited Him within to stay.

Pain and exhaustion are just an excuse,
Jesus' love and grace are quite profuse.

We've more than enough to get us through,
so we can finish everything we're supposed do.

Stand up straight, lean on Jesus not yourself,
you'll find the grace He provides is of tremendous wealth.

Pain and exhaustion aren't so important any more,
instead your thoughts will be of Jesus whom you adore.
