Pass It On
by Barbara Philbrook

Have you ever stumbled over repaying kindness or a special act,
tried to put into words what you knew to be fact?

Have you felt indebted to another for kindness beyond measure,
you wanted them to know that their specialness you treasure?

Have you ever ached to repay a deed that is monumental to you,
you think and think and don't know what to do?

There are some actions words can not express,
and so to give thanks for them seems like hopelessness?

But here's a thought of something you can do,
to repay an act of kindness someone did for you.

Pass it on, give it to someone's mother,
share that love with a deserving sister or brother.

Some things like kindness we are unable to measure,
but by caring about others we pass on the treasure.

Just by being nice or doing a good deed,
even by offering to whisper a prayer for someone in need.

This way the kind act keeps rippling on,
just like the water in a quiet silvery pond.

It grows and grows to a magnificent size,
it's Gods great love being passed on we realize.

Love helps us to overcome every other emotion,
love is how we show each other our devotion.

Love overcame sin and it's eventual cost,
love is what gave us salvation for the lost.

When you have received proof of love through a kind act,
pass it on to another to prove the fact.

Pass it on, give it to one who has a need,
the more we use it the faster it can succeed.
