Preparation For The Storm
by Barbara Philbrook

Preparation for the storm has begun.
The warnings of the danger are for everyone.

Prepare your possessions, tie them down,
or the prevailing winds will be tossing them around.

Gather your needs and get them in a safe place.
Many are frantic, moving at a hectic pace.

Stores have been emptied by those who've seen it before.
They know these warnings we must not ignore.

Cars are being filled up with fuel.
Any ignoring these signs are considered a fool.

Massive winds coming in at a rapid pace.
We aren't even sure our homes will remain in place.

Neighbors all gathering to help each other prepare.
It's times like these we realize just how much we care.

All of the preparing has taken place.
So far we are ahead in this hectic race.

Now Father we have done all we can do,
and so we turn ourselves over to You.

Protect us Father from the winds and rain,
and if it be Thy will, bring us all together again.

If by chance we do not make it through this storm,
I know we'll awake with You safe and warm.

Preparation for the storm is as complete as can be,
the rest Dear Father is up to Thee.
