God Does Provide
by Barbara Philbrook

God knows what we need and He does provide,
I didn't realize to what extent until the Doctor had to check my heart and he took a look inside.

I must give you some background before I go on with this story,
I must make sure God gets all of the Honor and Glory.

We were attending the week of prayer,
and it seemed that night after night the same people were there.

One night around the middle of the week,
as I was praying for the guidance of my Lord which I did seek.

Hal came over as he was led by the Holy Spirit,
he started to pray for me and I was so thrilled to hear it.

You see I'd asked God to confirm something that had occurred to me that day,
and that confirmation came as I heard Hal pray.

Then quietly I heard him say to me,
go up front and receive prayer as God the Father intends it to be.

Hope prayed over and over as she held her hand over my heart,
and others there at the alter joined in and took part.

After the prayer service came to an end and conversations did start,
Hope told me God instructed her strongly to pray for my heart.

That night as I knelt to pray I told God I wasn't aware there was anything wrong with my heart,
but knowing of His superior knowledge I thanked him for fixing any damaged part.

Now God does not need human assistance to perform any repairs we need you see,
therefore His using Hope meant there was something He wanted to show me.

Just last week I was taken to the Hospital where I had to stay,
something was wrong with my heart is what the Doctors had to say.

Test after test just seemed to confirm what they originally thought,
they followed procedure and did as they had been taught.

Finally a catherization was scheduled so they could go inside and see,
then they would be able to tell me what was wrong with me.

During the test the Doctor said that the right side of my heart did not function as it should,
but the other side is compensating and that is good.

They pointed out to me  how a vein had grown over from the other side of my heart,
to bring life to this the nonworking part.

Does this happen to everyone whose heart ceases to function properly?
No they answered this is not something we often see.

I then  told them how God told Hope that she must pray over my heart for me,
and inquired could this be called a miracle this thing that we see?

Yes it can is what my Doctor said,
and the knowledge and joy of God's blessing filled my  head.

God performed a miracle I proclaimed as they wheeled me back to my room where my family waited,  God loves and provides just as our Holy Bible has stated.

Why do you think God wanted us to be aware of what He did to my heart,
was it to show us He still does provide just as He has from the very start?

I didn't know there was a problem I wasn't even aware,
but God was and He does care!
