Roses Without Thorns
by Barbara Philbrook

Have you ever picked up a rose, it's fragrance to inhale,
then suffered as it pierced your skin so delicate and frail.

Life is sort of like that in the things that come our way,
attractive and appealing yet harmful in some way.

We have to be guided by God and not our sense of appeal,
God will direct us to what is pure true and real.

We receive the Comforter on the day we accept our salvation,
He is also our interpreter of Godly information.

We are not left to wander or learn on our own,
if we seek God's guidance our way will be shown.

God blesses all of us each and every day,
it is up to us to find those blessings and to thank Him as we pray.

I've been blessed with roses that have given me joy without end,
these are roses without thorns and I call each one a "friend".
