Saying
I'm A Christian
by
Barbara Philbrook
When I say
I'm a Christian I do so with a shout,
"for I was a prisoner of Sin and now I've been let
out".
When I say
I'm a Christian if you think I sound proud,
tis because I made the right choice and I'll proclaim it
long and loud.
When I say
I'm a Christian it's not me that is being strong,
that would be my loving Savior who guides me along.
When I say
I'm a Christian I'm not bragging of success,
I'm merely inviting you to share in my happiness.
I had a
debt and it was paid for me,
and the same is offered to all who will take it
willingly.
When I say
I'm a Christian I'm not seeking admiration,
I am just sharing with you the story of salvation.
When I say
I'm a Christian it doesn't mean I feel no pain,
I just have the peace that passeth understanding which
you too can attain.
When I say
I'm a Christian it is in no way a judgement of you,
it is just an invitation because I'd like to spend
eternity with you.
When I say
I'm a Christian the one response I wish from you,
is for you to smile and say "I'm a Christian
Too".
Yes I am a
Christian a part of God's loving family,
I'd like to invite all who will listen to come and join
with us for eternity.
