Show Me
by Barbara Philbrook

Show me Lord the way in which you want me to go,
reveal to me the things that you want  me to know.

Put into my mouth the words that you want me to say,
give me the discernment to know what I can handle and what must be turned over to you as I pray.

Sanctify me that I may be able to do the very best job that I may do,
please give me the demeanor that is needed to attract others to you.

Allow me to love others as I know that you love me,
put blinders on my eyes so that nothing negative in my fellow man will I see.

Let my caring about others reflect what you feel for me,
may they see that you want to bring them home with you for eternity.

May I remember that I am here not to be served but to serve,
and that is an honor greater than any I deserve.

May the service I offer others the service I provide,
be such that they realize that you are waiting at their heart's door and invite you within to reside.

May every word action and deed that I am offering to do,
bring you the Honor and Glory that is deserved by you.

Show me Lord what it is I can do for you,
then please provide the fortitude I need to carry it through.

Show me the way, the truth, and the light,
and I promise you Lord I'll do my very best  to get it right.

I on my own am incapable of the most minute task,
but Lord with you there beside me I know we can accomplish anything you ask.
