Some People
by Barbara Philbrook

Some people live in pain others may never feel.
Some people experience fear you wouldn't believe real.

Some people feel hurt from the day they are born.
For some it gets so intense the don't wish to go on.

Some people have never seen the light of day.
They carefully maneuver around things in the way.

Some people have never smelled a flower,
have never inhaled the fragrant power.

Some people have known the most vile abuse,
actually believing they were born for others' use.

Some people have never received a loving embrace,
have never seen love on anyone's face.

Some people don't count their blessings each day,
don't thank God as they kneel to pray.

Some people take what they have for granted,
their sense of values badly slanted.

Some people will learn to appreciate life anew.
This is the prayer I'm praying for you.
