Soon I'll Be Home
by Barbara Philbrook

Soon I'll be home and how joyful that will be,
there are so many dear ones I can't wait to see.

Hugs and kisses and perhaps even a few tears,
loved ones and friends I haven't seen in years.

There's lots to talk about, much has occurred,
some memories are crystal clear, some are blurred.

There are joys and sorrows which we will share,
I'm so extremely anxious to get there.

Old folks and young ones who I'm dying to see,
the very same folks I can't wait to hug close to me.

New England again I've missed it so,
I can't imagine any other place on Earth I'd rather go.

Old friends and loved ones we'll be with once more,
soon we'll be arriving, knocking on each door.

Making new memories to recall when we are apart,
things we can recall that will warm the heart.

One day we'll be at our eternal home to stay,
never to be parted never another good-bye to say.
