Spectacular Sight
by Barbara Philbrook

I witnessed the most spectacular sight,
as I watched the Lunar eclipse the other night.

Never before have I been in such awe,
as during this lunar eclipse that I saw.

As the moon became covered by the shadow you see,
the whole sky looked more vivid to me.

More dimension and a more definitive shape,
it was so beautiful I began to gape.

The moon appeared as an orb suspended in the air,
It appeared a long ladder would get me there.

As though if I could just climb that high,
I could pluck that orb right out of the sky.

I sat on the glider my eyes glued in place,
never before had I seen such beauty in space.

Many others were looking at the same sight as I,
all our eyes just glued to the sky.

It brought to mind the spectacle it would be,
when Jesus came for you and me.

Every eye will see Him as He descends one more time,
Lord I know that will be even more sublime.

I thank You Father for the eclipse the other night,
I'll forever remember that beautiful sight.
