Strength
by Barbara Philbrook

Lord grant me the strength that will see me through,
please do not allow my eyes to drift away from you.

I know that free will allows me to choose your guidance each and every day,
I feel so tired at times that I fear I'll forget  to make that choice as I pray.

The spirit of fear is not what you want me to feel,
help me to seek your truth's so that I may only allow into my life what is pure and what is real.

There are things that I do not understand  nor that I would choose to be,
but you are in control and the end from the beginning is what you see.

You would never allow anything into my life that would be more than I could bear,
and when things get tough I receive strength as I seek you in prayer.

I recognize that our character is formed by the trials and tribulations that  we go through,
and it is with joy in my heart that I give thanks for these to you.

Lord there is not anything in me that deserves such loving kindness from you,
but I accept the love the patience the sacrifice everything that you do.

Yes I recognize and am grateful for all that you have done in the past for me,
and I offer Honor and Glory to you Father Son & Holy Spirit all 3.

Now as I face new trials and tribulations that are yet to come my way,
I ask that you send me the strength that will sustain me and get me through each day.

Please guide my steps and the example that I set,
that what my children will witness will give them peace that they haven't experienced as yet.

Lord my precious children that you so lovingly lent to me,
are seeing how I  react to whatever trials and temptations happen to be.

Dear Father it is my earnest prayer that everything I do or say that they may see,
will teach them to seek all the strength they need from thee.
