Thoughts
by Barbara Philbrook

Sometimes thoughts come into my head,
thoughts I regret fear or dread.

Sometimes thoughts of anger or superiority,
Father I apologize to Thee.

Sometimes thoughts that cause me to feel sad,
thoughts of something I've never had.

Then I feel pangs of regret,
I humbly repent but need not fret.

Because I know it's just whisperings of the enemy,
who's trying to discourage me.

He's a liar and has always been,
tis his lies caused the fall of men.

The great deceiver is what he is called,
many a good men he's caused to fall.

I'll not cave in no siree,
Jesus gave us the victory.

We haven't got a spirit of fear,
but a promise that our Comforter is near.

Jesus started a good work when we accepted Him,
we're told immediately it did begin.

Order that old devil to go away,
God gave you the power when you got saved that day.

Stomp your foot grind him into the ground,
tell him you don't want him coming around.

Lift you hands give God the praise,
He's promised to be beside us all our days.

Heavenly Father we adore You,
humbly we bow down here before You.

Thank You for giving us the power to overcome,
when we accept Salvation from Your Son
.
