Together Lord
by Barbara Philbrook

I am climbing up this mountain Lord and the way is very steep,
I have often had to pause on the way  because of the need to weep.

There are obstacles tougher than I have come across before,
but I know within my heart when it becomes too much you  will help me to endure.

And though I can not see you or hear your gentle voice urge me on,
I am as sure you are there with me as I am that after the night comes the dawn.

I want to give you praises Lord for the trials and tribulations that come my  way,
I know that the forming of my character is being worked on today.

I know that you promise that you will never allow  more trials than I can bear,
and that you are here beside me for every  pain heartache and tear.

I know that when I reach the top of this mountain and fill my lungs with air,
I'll forget the depth of sorrow and pain that I felt while trudging to get there.

There will be no obstacles between you and I when I finally get to the crest,
and the time that You and I can be together Lord will outshine all of the rest.

I ask for your forgiveness Lord for my feebleness and the self pity I tend to feel,
and ask you to give me the strength to carry on with faithfulness and zeal.

Lord when this mountain has been conquered and we are together may I remember the bliss,
so that when I face the next mountain I do so without sinfulness.
