Life's Ups And Downs
by Barbara Philbrook

Life certainly has it's ups and downs,
and often our faces reflect these times by our joyous looks or our sad filled frowns.

Some folks refer to these as the hills and valleys of life
and their expressions reflect that they are either filled with joy or saddened with strife.

There are some people who when unhappiness surrounds them,
they surrender to the sadness and pain and their joyfulness is not to be found again.

Then there are those who when things get bad,
they keep to themselves for the time they're feeling sad.

There are some folks who no matter what the condition of their life on any given day,
not one clue to its emotional level does their countenance give away.

When there's something joyful in my life there's no need for me to say,
the look on my face does my full happiness portray.

When things which cause sadness come my way
the peace that passeth understanding gained by turning them over to my Lord is what my face does relay.

I honestly feel that the toughest times of all for me are not the hill top or depth of the valley,
because during both of those times Gods presence is there to see.

No it's when I'm somewhere in between and God's presence isn't quite so able to be felt,
that's when faith must be what gets me through each day the faith I asked for when in prayer I knelt.

Now I have no way of knowing what your problems are or what gets you through,
but if you need a helping hand just reach out to God he's reaching out to you!
