Whatever It Takes Lord
by Barbara Philbrook

Whatever it takes Lord I want my children saved,
so I plead with you as they walk this road life has paved.

Do whatever it takes so they choose to serve thee,
and in so choosing will live for eternity.

Take them through whatever fires they need to walk through,
just as long as they are purified and following you.

You are the potter putting shapes to new vessels each day,
they still need reshaping, they are still raw clay.

Mother's love cannot do what I am asking of you,
the choosing must be theirs I know this to be true.

But the beckoning of your Spirit is what drew me,
I pray they also hear that beckoning and are drawn to thee.

Lord make me all that I need to be for them in this life,
giving them guidance toward you whether for praise or strife.

Please provide the wisdom that will allow them to see,
that anything in life is possible with thee.

Please make their ears hear only what you think they should,
blocking out all that leads to no good.

Father as imperfect as I am you still love and provide for me,
please do whatever it takes Lord to bring my children to thee.
