What God Is To Me
by Barbara Philbrook

God is the Father I can't wait to see,
the one who will greet me so lovingly.

God is the love I finally realize,
the love I once sought with earthly eyes.

God is the refuge when I am in pain,
where I find relief when I need to refrain.

God is my strength when I am weak,
and the treasure I find when I sincerely seek.

God is my courage when I feel fear,
always letting me know He is near.

God is my light when the world seems dark.
He is my voice when I sing like a lark.

God is the joy in my life,
during tremendous trials and strife.

He helps me see there is a heavenly tomorrow,
to wash out today's sorrow.

He opens the windows to what will be,
so there is a new joy I can see.

In other words, God is everything to me.
A truth I wish I could help the world to see.

God is my all, my everything.
He is the one to whom my troubles I bring.

The one who makes all things right.
The one who makes even darkness bright.

God can be the very same to you,
just inviting Him into your heart is all you must do.

Invite Him in with a sincere prayer,
and the changes begin as soon as He's there.

God does not will that even one be lost.
Jesus paid our way at a great cost.

Won't you let my God be your God too?
He's waiting now to hear from you!
