What I Saw
by Barbara Philbrook

What I saw had the potential to make me sad,
by appearances sake things were really bad.

A precious friend we will miss so much passed away,
and I now have mountains of things about which to pray.

A friend on oxygen and still struggling to breath,
and still she believes salvation is not a personal need.

A triple by-pass on my thirty nine year old niece was done,
and she's been in a coma since it begun.

Sickness and rejection of Biblical truth,
from those up in age as well as the youth.

Cancer touching one who is very much needed,
and h too the Bible truths never heeded.

Teenagers rebelling and giving their parents a hard time,
some really pushing or even crossing the line.

But no discouragement is bothering me,
for I have complete trust in my heavenly Father you see.

Seeds were planted and when the time is just right,
God will open their eyes and give them new sight.

The nurturing and tending are not up to me,
I only plant the seeds God nourishes so lovingly.

The blossoms will open once the seeds all sprout,
one day the garden will be finished and we'll all praise the result.
