What's Left Behind
by Barbara Philbrook

When this life is over what will other's find?
What will be said what's left behind?

Have you made an impact on another's life?
Have you caused joyful memories or unbearable strife?

Have you lightened another's load some how,
or is that something you hadn't thought of till now?

Will others miss your radiant smile,
or find peace in your passing? Do you care or are you in denial?

Will youngsters grow into better adults due to you,
or will their memories hold a disturbing view?

What's left behind is your life's legacy,
I pray there is joy when other's think of me.

I pray that thoughts of me raise another's faith in our Father,
and that due to that they try harder.

I pray that love for others is what they seek,
and that they offer help to those who are weak.

I pray hope in the future is what they see,
each time they are reminded of me.

I pray they share the salvation story,
and tell others of Jesus and of His great glory.

I pray there is no hurt or sorrow caused by me,
and that I left others a God filled legacy.

What's left behind can still be changed,
you still have the opportunity your life to rearrange.

Make new memories if you don't like the old,
it's all explained in God's Bible where truths unfold.

What's left behind is what our life turned out to be,
may ours bring to God honor and dignity.
