What Do You See?
by Barbara Philbrook

When looking at a rainbow what exactly do you see,
are you enjoying it's beauty or dwelling on the storm that caused it to be?

Are you seeing the spectrum of colors and their beautiful hue,
or are you instead worrying over how much the rain has inconvenienced you?

When you observe Cumulus Clouds in the sky,
are you fretting over them or do you enjoy the fascinating shapes as they float by?

As the Cumulus Clouds block out the sunshine up there so high,
do you find beauty in the silver lining or do you heave a big sigh?

When you see a bee hovering around a pretty flower,
do you see the intricate beauty or worry over the bee's stinging power?

At the sight of this busily working insect collecting pollen to take home,
is it a vision of interest or are you worrying if he'll leave you alone?

You are looking at a glass with liquid exactly to the half way mark,
are you happy that it's half full or do you bellow it's half empty with a bark?

Can you remember the saying what you see is what you get,
truth is that what you choose to think about, what you see, can bring you joy or make you fret?

Absolutely nothing you see, hear, or do,
can make you happy or cause you to feel blue.

So when you notice that your feelings' barometer is dropping down,
rethink your reaction to your present situation and you'll be wearing a smile instead of a frown.

You see God gave to each and every one of us the ability to choose,
and whether you decide to go with positive or negative determines whether or not that frown you will loose.

Now we all are aware that Satan is not going to be thrilled if everyone chooses to think in a positive way, but those of us who have Jesus in our hearts don't care about him and as for all of
you others, we'll all pray.
