What Should I See?
by Barbara Philbrook

What should I see when I am praying to Thee?
I asked my Father in sincerity.

I'd heard it preached on by several men of God,
that they didn't have the answer, struck me as odd.

I listened to their solutions and none seemed right,
so I went to my Father with my plight.

Father what is it that I should see,
when I am on my knees praying to thee?

Suddenly right there enfolded in a mist,
was a sight that filled me with heavenly bliss.

On the throne sat God with Jesus by His side.
I thanked Him profusely and joyfully cried.

Just as it says there in the Holy Word,
just as we were told it would occur.

Jesus sitting at the Fathers right hand side.
Amazingly I got an answer and wasn't denied.

Crying with gratitude and gratefulness,
expressing my joy and happiness.

Then I looked up again and what did I see,
crowds were in attendance all listening so attentively.

Lord "What are they doing there,
I was asking about You and I in my personal prayer"?

Now who am I that I should question Him?
But I was so shocked to see them I just jumped in.

With loving kindness not the slightest condemnation,
God gave me this simple explanation.

This is what He said, no mistake,
"Because what you are going through is for their sake".

Today I received an interpretation of what I saw,
and the explanation of it still has me is awe.

God knew back then what I would one day be,
and He knows right on through eternity.
