What You Are
by Barbara Philbrook

What you are is a creation of God above.
Made in His image for Him to walk with in love.

You are "Special" and considered to be of great worth.
So much so He sent His Son to die for us on this earth.

He left His Father and gave up His throne,
to come here and suffer and die all alone.

We are told this over and over in God's Holy Word.
Have you been listening? Have you not heard?

Jesus is incapable of telling a lie.
He knew who would accept or reject and yet was willing to die.

As He walked on earth and served those in need,
He proved more is gotten by serving than by living in greed.

He gave us an example of the perfect way to live,
not by wanting for yourself but by wanting to give.

What you are is either an example of one under subjection,
or one living in sin's dejection.

The choice is yours. God hears all who call on Him.
You can be covered by His blood or continue on in sin.

What you are is not what you need to be.
Jesus died on the cross to set you free.

What you are can now be a thing of the past.
Call on Jesus and be free at last.
