Without God
by Barbara Philbrook

Without God, I am nothing at all.
Without His grace I would surely fall.

Without the Spirit, I would loose my way.
I need to surrender every day.

Without God, there'd be no love to share,
for I don't have the ability to care.

Without the gifts of our Heavenly Father,
life would be so much harder.

Without the word to strengthen my faith to believe,
there would be no way the strife to relieve.

Without the promise that by His stripes He will heal,
my strength would recede and I'd give in to what I feel.

But God opened my eyes that I could see.
I accepted salvation and won the victory.

Now it is not by my strength that I stand.
God holds me up in the palm of His hand.

I now have a Teacher and Guide to show me the way,
as long as I surrender day by day.

I now love not by the caring of a human heart,
but upon acceptance God's pure love did start.

Life is easier to live you see,
because of the gifts my heavenly Father gave to me.

The Bible gives me the faith to believe,
and therefore all my strife it does relieve.

I no longer have to give in to how bad I may feel.
God promises by Jesus' stripes I am healed.

Without God, life wouldn't hold any happiness for me,
but in Him I now look forward to eternity.
