Your Life
(With Love for my Sister-in-Law Rhonda)

by Barbara Philbrook

Your life has been our gift from God above,
one given to each of us with great love.

The length meaning less that the quality,
you've contributed so much to humanity.

You have always been such a loving soul,
reaching out to others to make their lives whole.

Always giving of time and self so obligingly,
offering to help others so unselfishly.

Caring what would make another smile,
offering assistance during any trial.

Providing for others whatever their need,
you'd quietly do what you could and modestly proceed.

Hardly ever complaining though always in pain,
when others are bickering you patiently refrain.

Being tired never caused you to hold back,
no one has ever accused you of being slack.

Giving your love in abundance to all,
whenever you were needed you answered the call.

Now the Drs. claim this life will soon end,
but they don't know our God on whom we depend.

A miracle can happen God can send a cure,
He can provide the grace needed to endure.

Or maybe it's His choice you go home to be by His side,
where He can share with you how you've caused Him such pride.

It's not life's length but it's quality,
that we leave behind as our legacy.

No matter how much time you have left on Earth,
you're loved deeply for your life of worth.

The effects of your life are written in Heavenly Pages,
and shall ripple on down throughout the ages.
