When King George and Queen Elizabeth toured Canada behind a Hudson steam engine in 1939, the monarch gave his permission to designate the engines as "Royal Hudsons." In 1974 one of those engines, the powerful 2860, was completely restored and began daytrips on the British Columbia Rail in Canada. The Royal Hudson travels from North Vancouver to Squamish with views of seascapes, snowcapped peaks, rock cliffs, waterfalls and forests.
