"Keep your face toward the sun and you cannot see the shadows."
~Helen Keller

What are songs (lyrics) after all? Poems set to music, of course. So, naturally they are included in my Nothing Books. Sometimes it is the music that moves me, and sometimes it is the message. Those are the songs included below.

~Less Of Me~

Let me be a little kinder.
Let me be a little blinder.
To the faults of those around me.
Let me praise a little more.

Let me be, when I am weary,
Just a little bit more cherry;
Think a little more of others,
And a little less of me.

Let me be a little braver
When temptations bid me waver.
Let me strive a little harder
To be all that I should be.
Let me be a little meeker
With a brother that is weaker.
Let me think more of my neighbor
And a little less of me.

Let me be, when I am weary,
Just a little bit more cherry.
Let me serve a little harder
For those I'm striving for.
Let me be a little meeker
With a brother that is weaker;
Think a little more of others
And a little less of me.

~Green Pastures~

Troubles and trials often betray those
On in the weary body to stray
But we shall walk beside the still waters
With the Good Shepherd leading the way.

Those who have strayed were sought by the Master
He who once gave His life for the sheep
Out on the mountain still He is searching
Bringing them in forever to keep.

Going up home to live in green pastures
Where we shall live and die never more
Even the Lord will be in that number
When we shall reach that Heavenly shore.

We will not heed the voice of the stranger
For he would lead us on to despair
Following on with Jesus, our savior,
We shall all reach that country so fair.

Going up home to live in green pastures
Where we shall live and die never more
Even the Lord will be in that number
When we shall reach that Heavenly shore.
