Samuel Denney born about 1715 in either Ireland or Virginia.
He was in Albermarle Co., Virginia in 1748,
according to Land Records. He acquired 300+ acres on Hat's Creek near Rose's Mill.

He was married to Sarah Suddarth.

Charles Denney, Sr. was born between 1760 and 1765,
probably in Albermarle Co., Virginia.
He married Anna Larwood.
About 1770, he moved to Surry Co., North Carolina, along with his father, Samuel. He later returned to Virginia before moving to Wayne Co., Kentucky in about 1802. He later moved to Webster Co., Missouri and is buried in the Denney Cemetery in Webster Co.

Benjamin Denney was born 1790 in Grayson Co., Virginia.
He married Mary "Polly" Mounce.
In about 1801 he moved his family to Wayne Co., Kentucky and in about 1834, he and his brother, Charles, Jr. moved their familes to Missouri.
They first settled on Teagues Creek but soon moved to Finley Creek in Webster Co. He and Polly are both buried in the Denney Cemetery in Webster Co., Missouri.

Crawford Denney was born September 24, 1824 in Wayne Co., Kentucky.
He married Margaret Hammons.
In 1853 Crawford homesteaded land the is now the location of Mountain Grove, Missouri.
They then homesteaded land on Cowskin Creek, NW of Ava, Missouri. He gave the land for the Denney Cemetery located there.

Perry Denney was born January 20, 1861 and married Serena Elizabeth Snelson on December 16, 1880.
They are both buried in the Denney Cemetery in Douglas County, near Ava, Missouri.

William Smile Denney was born June 8, 1884 and died May 27, 1950. He married Clara Montana Silence, the daughter of Marion Silence and Mary Elizabeth Johnson, March 1, 1905.
She was born June 21,1885 and died November 29, 1965.
They lived on the property homesteaded by Crawford Denney near Ava, Missouri and are buried in the Denney Cemetery there.

Orville Ray Denney was born March 7, 1908 and Died February 12, 1991. He married Mona Hailey, daughter of Homer Hailey and Hattie Ellison, August 2, 1929. She was born October 3, 1910 and died on February 12, 1995.
They lived on the property homesteaded by Mona's Great Grandfather near Ava, in Douglas Co., Missouri.

They raised 4 sons, one of them being Marvin Leroy Denney.
