These are our McAdoo Ancestors.

Barnett McAdoo married Frances and
they lived in Carroll Co., Tennessee.
This is part of the family that produced
Samuel McAdoo,
founder of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Levi Pinkney McAdoo was born about 1811.
He was raised in and around
Huntington, Carroll Co., Tennessee.
Around 1830 Levi married Minerva Ellin Harper,
born about 1812, the daughter of
Benjamin Harper and Hannah Lawrence.

In 1831 they started their trip west, in the
company of her parents.
They settled in what later became Green Co. Mo.
where they made their home until 1845.
Levi was a minister and a farmer.

They moved to Brush Creek Township,
in LeClede Co., Missouri,
later moving to Union Township.

At the outbreak of the Civil War, Rev. McAdoo
enlisted as a Hospital Steward.
He later organized Company 1 of the
8th Regiment of
Missouri Volunteer Calvary
and served as Captain until June 30, 1863,
when he was given an honorable discharge due to
Chronic Bronchitis.

Levi died May 11, 1876, Ellen died late 1894
or early 1895, both in LeClede Co., Missouri.

Andrew Jackson McAdoo was born
July 18, 1837,
Near Phillipsburg, LeClede County, Missouri.
Jack married Martha Cathryn Clinkingbeard,
the daughter of
Susannah M. Lowrance and Robert E. Clinkingbeard,
October 18, 1855 at Brush Creek, Missouri.

Jack served 2 six month tours of duty with the
Missouri Volunteers during the Civil War.
One in 1861 and one in 1864.

Although he and Martha were married for forty years,
they were separated for a time in 1876,
and again in the 1880's.
They were granted a divorce February 12, 1895,
in LeClede County, Missouri.

Jack died December 14, 1913 and is buried in the
Union Cemetery in Phillipsburg, Missouri.
Martha died in 1915 and is buried in
Lawrence County, Missouri.

Nancy ann McAdoo was born in September, 1868.
She married Joseph Barney Hailey,
November 11, 1886 in
Beaver Community, Ava, Douglas County, Mo.

Nancy died November 22, 1910.
