Motive: taking over the Chinese empire.
Review: Shan Yu, leader of the Hun army, wants to rule the Chinese empire. The only thing getting in the way of his plan is the Chinese army. Among China's troops is Mulan, the female soldier, who soon becomes Shan Yu's arch enemy. But is Shan Yu really a villain? Sure to China and the audience he is, but that's because the movie persuades you to root for China. If the film starred a Hun and lead you to believe "Hun good, China bad," then you'd be cheering for the Huns, in this film it's the opposite. Think about it, both the Chinese and Hun army kill people, it's a war, so all of them could be specified as heroes or villains. It all depends on the influence the film-makers put on you. Shan Yu over all is a very agressive and cruel villain, which makes him entertaining in his very little screen time. The drawing style used for Shan Yu is very unique and creative, which makes him all the better.
