GOD’S BOOK OF LIFE

MARCH 7, 2000

She approached me after our lesson and asked me if I would share about the Book of Life I referred to on my next visit. As soon as she asked I knew in my heart that this dear lady was seeking God and He was going to meet her.

I came in the next week and as requested I started to share the verses I had found on the Book of Life. I had quite a few verses. I shared the first three scriptures with not much dialogue just reading the verses.

Luke 10:20 "Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven." (NKJ)

Phil 4:3 And I urge you also, true companion, help these women who labored with me in the gospel, with Clement also, and the rest of my fellow workers, whose names are in the Book of Life. (NKJ)

Rev 3:5 "He who overcomes shall be clothed in white garments, and I will not blot out his name from the Book of Life; but I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels.” (NKJ)

There was about 12-15 people in the attendance this day around the tables. We had taken three of the tables and had pushed them together making one long table. I was sitting next to the head of the table on one end and she was sitting at the opposite end, opposite of me.

As I finished reading the third verse she just stood up and said, “I don’t know Jesus.” Well I just sat astonished because I had not mentioned one thing about knowing Jesus. I got up and went over and talked to her more privately. Her sister who loves Jesus was sitting next to her with tears just rolling down her face. After she accepted Jesus I went and sat back down.

I then asked her if I could share what just happened to her. She said, ‘Yes’ and I became very excited....”I just want to share with all of you that we are not only sharing His Word about His Book of Life we all were just witnesses to someone getting their names written into the book.” The room went electric with excitement as each person’s light went one. “Yes, that is what we just saw,” said another woman. I tell you it was amazing.

Two weeks later this lady died unexpectedly. No one even knew she was sick. Our Lord’s timing was so awesome to call her just in time. Thanks to prayers of her sister and others of us who love Jesus. The following Tuesday I did her memorial and it was a joy. That will be posted soon on my new Sermons Section.

Here is a list of the other verses on the Book of Life. I hope you can use them sometime and watch how the Power of God’s Word works.

Exod 32:32-33 "Yet now, if You will forgive their sin-- but if not, I pray, blot me out of Your book which You have written." And the LORD said to Moses, "Whoever has sinned against Me, I will blot him out of My book.” (NKJ)

Ps 69:28 “Let them be blotted out of the book of the living, and not be written with the righteous.” (NKJ)

Dan 12:1 "At that time Michael shall stand up, the great prince who stands watch over the sons of your people; and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation, even to that time. And at that time your people shall be delivered, every one who is found written in the book.” (NKJ)

Heb 12:22-24 “But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, to an innumerable company of angels, to the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are registered in heaven, to God the Judge of all, to the spirits of just men made perfect, to Jesus the Mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling that speaks better things than that of Abel. (NKJ)

Rev 20:12 “And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books.” (NKJ)

Rev 17:8 "The beast that you saw was, and is not, and will ascend out of the bottomless pit and go to perdition. And those who dwell on the earth will marvel, whose names are not written in the Book of Life from the foundation of the world, when they see the beast that was, and is not, and yet is. (NKJ)

Rev 13:8 “All who dwell on the earth will worship him, whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. “(NKJ)

Rev 21:24-27 “And the nations of those who are saved shall walk in its light, and the kings of the earth bring their glory and honor into it. Its gates shall not be shut at all by day (there shall be no night there). And they shall bring the glory and the honor of the nations into it. But there shall by no means enter it anything that defiles, or causes an abomination or a lie, but only those who are written in the Lamb's Book of Life. (NKJ)

Rev 20:15 “And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.” (NKJ)
