            Americus Vespuci Vick was born on June 26, 1826 in Virginia to Edwin Vick and Margaret (Peggy) Garner.

            (Note:Edwin Vick was a medical doctor in Virginia.)

            Americus moved to Benton Co., Tennessee between 1840 and 1848.
            (Note:No Vick's are listed in the 1840 Benton Co., TN census.)

            Americus married Susannah Pafford on March 23, 1848 in Benton Co. by John W. Davidson, JP.
            Susannah was born on April 14, 1832 to John and Sarah Pafford.

            Americus V. Vick died on Jan.9, 1870. Susannah (Pafford)Vick died on Dec.9, 1919. They were both buried in the Flatwoods Cemetery in Benton Co., TN.


            They had nine children.

            1. Christopher Columbus Vick was born on Nov.30, 1849 in Benton Co.,Tennessee. He married Julia ann Alice Bateman on Feb.9, 1876 in Benton Co., TN, by Reubin R. Nelson, MG.

            2. Washington Lfayette Vick was born on Feb.22,1852 in Benton Co., Tennessee. He never married. He died on Jan.21, 1870. He was buried in the Flatwoods Cemetery in Benton Co., TN.

            3. Edwin Craton Vick was born on March 31, 1854 in Benton Co.,Tennessee. He married Melinda Tennessee Wood on Jan.23, 1873 in Benton Co., TN, by J.P. Arnold, MG.

            4. Lucian Bonaparte Vick was born on Jan.16,1856 in Benton Co.,Tennessee. He married Ada Elizabeth Alsup on Jan.7, 1888 in Benton Co., TN, by Hiram R. Pierce, JP.

            5. Louise Victoria Vick was born on Oct.25,1859 in Benton Co.,Tennessee. She married Jack Dawson Holland on Sept.14, 1882 in Benton Co., TN, by John H. Farmer, JP.

            6. Andrew Donelson Vick was born on Feb.15,1862 in Benton Co.,Tennessee. He married Viola Greer on Jan.20, 1887 in Benton Co., TN, by Robert W. Ayres,JP.

            7. John Collins Vick was born on July 17,1864 in Benton Co., Tennessee. He never married. He died on May 10, 1901, burial was in the Flatwoods Cemetery in Benton Co., TN.

            8. Sarah Caroline Vick was born on Dec.22,1866 in Benton Co., Tennessee. She married Andrew Jackson Wood on Jan.20,1881 in Benton Co., TN, by James M. Cuff, JP.

            9. Sebastion Cabot Vick was born on Oct.7,1869. He never married. He died on June 19, 1945, burial was in the Chalkhill Cemetery in Benton Co., TN.


            Americus V. Vick and Susannah Pafford were my, Doris M. Hightower's third great grandparents.
            Their son Edwin Craton Vick was my second great grandfather.
