Ashley's site is gone now, (oh how the years pass), but here's Zachary. . . .

Zachary is a creative, energetic and wonderfully spirited 3 year old homeschooled preschooler! In this photo he is actually 2.5, and has completed a master piece in our garage. After driving me crazy in the fabric/craft store begging for a "Blue's Clues
House" (one of those pre-printed cardboard box houses that you can color) we came home and made our own. Boy did he have a blast!
We found a big cardboard box, and I cut out a window and a door. Then we grabbed an assortment of washable tempra paints and brushes, spread out an old sheet on the garage floor, and he was off. Together we painted grass and bushes, the sun, bricks and even a car. We revised this project a few months later when we built
a "burning building" to coincide with his obsession with fire fighting!
So far we have really taken an unschooling approach to preschool. I love crafts and projects, so we do fun things like collages, painting and gluing at least a few times per week. Mixed with that we have a few Mommy & Me classes and day trips. My goal has been to provide Zachary with a variety experiences, taking
every opportunity to encourage his thirst for exploration and discovery.
This fall I plan to become a tad more directed with the introduction of the Sonlight literature-based curriculum, but we will certainly continue with the crafts! He wouldn't have it any other way :-D
