Thanksgiving has always been a special time for our family. When I was growing up we would either go to my Aunt and Uncle's home or they would come to ours! Where ever we had Thanksgiving it was a day of fun and laughter! Not to mention all the good food! There is nothing like waking up in the morning and smelling the turkey cooking.
There would be so much food! I would always load my plate with everything. Mom would always say to us kids, "Your eyes are bigger than your stomachs" and they usually were.....lol Even when we got older she would tell us that, but then would always ask if we wanted seconds!
To make the day go by faster, so it would be turkey time, we would play board games and watch the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade! All those balloons!
Such good memories..8-) My brothers and sisters and I still get together for the holidays. Now we watch our kids enjoying the wonder of the holiday season!
Yes, there is more to Thanksgiving then just the good food. It started way back with the Pilgrims and the Indians. The First Thanksgiving was a time of sharing. The Native Americans shared their knowledge of the new land with the pilgrims.
