Peter A. Haugen died december 8th  at the age of  69 year old.
          Peter Haugen was born at  Aal in Hallingdal, and came to he America when he was young boy together with his parents.

He leave his wife , 7 son's and 5 daughter's. The son's are Peter Haugen, San Diego; Andrew, Melvin, Thelmar, Los Angeles; Nels, Albert, & Henning, Grand Forks.  The daughter's are Mrs Arne Haugen, Manvel; Mrs Lars Hanson, Mrs Elmer Bray, Mrs Donald Bleven and Mrs Clarence Knutson, all from Grand Forks; tree brother's in Roseau County, Minn., and two sisters in Canada.

Peter A. Haugen, 69 years old, 311 Walnut Street, died at his home Friday night.  Born in Norway April 9, 1864, Mr Haugen came to the United States at the age of two years and had lived in Grand Forks for the past 12 years.  Surviving are his widow, seven sons, Peter Haugen of San Diego;  Andrew, Melvin and Thelmar of Los Angelses and Nels, Albert(sp) and Henning of Grand Forks;  five daughters, Mrs Arne Haugen of Manvel, Mrs Lars Hanson, Mrs Elmer Bray, Mrs Donald Bliven and Mrs Clarence Knutson, all of Grand Fork;  three brothers in Roseau county, Minnesota, two sisters in Canada, and his stepmother.  Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 12 noon in the Hanson-Anderson chapel and at 1:30 P. M. in the Middle Graove Lutheran church of near Mekinock, with Rev. O. T. Ness and Rev R. O. Stoeve officiating.  Burial will be in the churchyard cemetery.  The body will lie in statwe at the home of a  daughter, Mrs Elmer Bray, 1203 Sixth avenue North, Monday afternoon and evening.

Funeral services for Peter A Haugen, 69 years old, 311 Walnut Street who died Friday, will be held Tuesday at noon in the Hanson-Anderson chapel and at 1:30 pm in the Middle Grove church near Mekinock.  Rev, O. T. Ness will officiate and burieal will be in the church yard cemetery.  In  addition to survivors previously mentioned, Mrs Oscar Myhre is a daughter living in this city.

  Mrs Agnette Haugen, 84, 311 Walnut St., a pioneer Grand Forks county resident, died Wednesday at a local hospital after an illness of three weeks. Mrs Haugen had lived in Grand Forks county for 53 years.  She came to this country from Lillehammer, Norway, with her parents when she was 16 years old. On July 1, 1884 she married Peder Haugen at Hatton, and lived at McIntosh, Minn., until 1890, when the couple moved to a farm near Kelly's.  The couple came to Grand Forks when Mr. Haugen retired. Survivors include five sons, Nels and Andrew of Grand Forks, Peter of Los Angeles,CAl. Melvin of Long Pine,Cal. and Henning of Willmar, Minn.five daughters, Mrs Selma Bunt, Mrs Mollie Knutson and Mrs Donald Bliven,all of Grand Forks and Mrs Melvin Sather of San Francisco and Mrs Lars Hanson of Port Orchard, Wash., a brother Tobias Sveum, Lillehammer, Norway; and 26 grandchildren.  Her husband died in 1933. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Hanson-Anderson funeral Chapel and at 2 p.m. at the Middle Grove Lutheran church.  Dr. Milton Bratrud will officiate.  Burial will take place in the church cemetery. The body will lie in state this evening at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be six grandsons, Larry Knutson and Palmer, Norval, Raynard, Ardell and Perdine Haugen.

Henning Haugen, 55, Terrace Apartments, died early today after being injured in a fall in downtown Minot Wednesday afternoon. Mr. Haugen was taken to a Minot Hospital following the accident. He sustained a head injury in the fall. Funeral arrangements are pending. Minot Daily News June 23, 1966 Page 6 Roll 230. Haugen---the funeral will be held Monday at 11 for Henning Haugen, 55, 314-6th St. NE, who died Thursday in a Minot Hospital as the result of injuries sustained Wednesday in a fall in downtown Minot. The service will be held in the chapel of Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Rev. Paul Lehner officiating.  Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday from 1 to 5 pm. and on Monday until the time of service. Mr. Haugen had been employed in various construction and labor jobs in the Minot area for a number of years.  He was reared at Grand Forks. Survivors include a number of brothers and sisters. Pallbearers for the funeral will be Arthur Meland, Edward Dionne, George Markert, Ralph Johnson, George Brown, and Julian Johnson.  Burial will be in Rosehill Memorial Park.

Vincent D Jeffrey, 52, 1402 N Seventh St., East Frand Forks, a former partner of Jeffrey Brothers Potato Co. in East Frand forks, died Tuesday at a local hospital. Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in East Grand Forks with Msgr. A.L. Merth officiating and burial in Calvary Cemetery. Mr. Jeffrey was born June 20, 1915 in East Frand Forks.  Mr. Jeffrey married the former Lillian Miller in East Grand Forks, Surviving are his wife; three sons, Ronald, David and Keving Jeffrey of East Grand Forks. a daughter, Mrs Clarence (Joanne)Nikle, Grand Forks. three brothers, Donald, Decatur.Ind. and Ardell and Duane Jeffrey of East Grand Forks. ONCE CITY RESIDENT DIES IN CALIFORNIA

Thelmer Haugen, 31 years old, until 3 years ago, a resident of Grand Forks, died Friday in Los Angeles, Calif. according to word received here. Mr Haugen was born in Rye Township in 1905 and moved to California in 1934.  He is survived by his mother, Mrs P.A. Haugen of Grand Forks; his wife; a son, Bobbie; six brothers, Nels, Albert, Melvin and Henning of
Grand Forks and Peter and Andrew of Los Angeles; six sisters, Mrs Elmer Bray, Mrs Don Bliven, Mrs Clarence Knutson and Mrs Lars Hanson of Grand Forks, Mrs Arne Haugen of Manvel and Mrs Oscar Myhre of Los Angeles. Funeral services have not been arranged but the body is being taken to Grand Forks for burial.

Funeral services for Thelmer Haugen former Grand Forks man who died Friday in Los Angeles, were held in Los angeles.  The first report was that the services would be in Grand Forks.

 

 

 

at 77,Rte 1 East Grand Forks died Sunday at a local hospital where she had been a patient since May 23. Mrs Cariveau, the former Ida May Jeffrey, was born Sept. 7, 1889 in Huntsville Twp. near East Grand Forks, the daughter of the late Mr & Mrs Joseph Jeffrey. Mrs Cariveau married Eli Cariveau in 1907 in East Grand Forks.  Mr. Cariveau's death occurred on April 29, 1962. Surviving are a son Roy Cariveau, Emerado, A daughter Mrs John (Eleanor) Hill, Grand Forks; five sisters, Mrs Fran (Minnie) Gorman, Mrs Reuben (Dora) Humble, Sr., Mrs Ed(Irene)Carriveau, Mrs Jack(Nellie) Hannah and

Mabel  B. Gorder 89, formerly of 1706 Continental Drive, died Sunday Aug. 25, 1991 in the Deaconess Nursing Home, Northwood, ND Services will be at 10;30 a.m. Thursday in Amundson Furneral Home, Grand Forks.  Visitation will be there one hour before services. Mabel Haugen was born Oct 31, 1901 near Mekinock,ND,the daughter of Peder and Angneta Haugen.  She attended schools in Mekinock and worked Congress Candy Co. Grand Forks for many years.  She married
Don Bliven in 1920.  He died in 1961.  She married Stanley Gorder December 19,1964 in Las Vegas, Nev.  She was a resident of the Valley Memorial Home Eldercare for six years before she moved to Northwood in July.  She was a member of United Lutheran Church, Grand Forks. Her husband survives. She was preceded in death by 12 brothers and sisters.
