Well designed with high-quality graphics.
Quick load time.
Using height/width tags on images is a big plus!
No broken images or dead links. None. (A few dead links are one thing, but not to exceed 4 or 5, unless they are parts of your site, then all links should work.)

I am not fond of pop-up windows, scrolling lines in my bars, or java script errors.
Please do not go overboard on the java applications.
1 or 2 animated gif's are fine. Too many take to long to load. And I am a very impatient person!
Watch for spelling, grammer, etc.
