Miss Dawn
©By Becky
My dad told me what I've been hoping to hear
Hoping to hear it for at least a whole year
He is going to bring someone else into my life
He finally ask Miss Dawn to become his wife
She has hair of gold and the sweetest smile
To have her hug me I would walk a whole mile
She and Dad met while both were on the Internet
That was three years ago and you can just bet
They have had enough time to really get to know
All about each other and have had time to grow
Close enough for a family we will someday form
Nothing that is considered to be out of the norm
They bought a big bike and over the country roam
But it sure is nice when they come back home
Looking at house plans is really quite square
But if it makes them happy who am I to care
All I really care about is a room of my own
And maybe, just maybe a room with a phone
Don't see my real Mom for a year sometime more
She lives quite close but I don't set much store
Of her ever spending any real time with me
But I look forward to visits with my sis Tiffany
My sister is just as crazy about my Miss Dawn
She talks about her when we are on the phone
They finally chose a house plan and I am so glad
The builders stared building, it makes me so mad
Why is it taking them so long, I really want to know
When will it be finished and everyday I there go
To see what's happened, sometime not too much
Has been done and the disappointment is such
I think it will never be finished no never in time
For their wedding date is February twenty nine
Why my dad chose this date I will truly never know
Miss Dawn can't figure it out either even though
It is to be her wedding too but dad he did insist
She really doesn't mind, she just makes out lists
Of things to do and things to buy for the house
I am really getting antsy and I tend to grouse
I will be so happy, when the house is finally done
And they get married and I can really call her MUM
I talked to grandmama about the date they set
It takes four years for it to come around and yet
She just smiles, chuckles saying don't worry dear
We'll just give them a present on every fourth year
Now if that makes sense, I can't figure it I fear
I would rather get a present each and every year
But I guess it doesn't matter when the date is set
Just so long as they get hitched I will never fret
So Miss Dawn I say this and I am so very sincere
Welcome to our family, we all hold you so dear
You'll have a son who'll love you more each day
I hope you will be happy, that's all I have to say
Love Chris
