Note: Robert inherited the Baronet upon the death of his childless older brother, Hervey. Baron Robert of Stafford, who in the 25th year of His Majesty, Henry III, 1241, upon doing homage and paying £100 for his relief, had livery of his lands. This feudal lord was in the wars of Gascogne, during the 38th year of His Majesty, Henry III, 1254, and in four years afterwards, 1258, he had a military summons to march against the Welsh. He married Alice, one of the daughters and co-heir of Thomas Corbet, of Caus, Shropshire, and dying in 1282, was succeeded by his son, Baron Nicholas of Stafford.
