We are researching the STEPHENS family of Greene and Oglethorpe Counties. We have traced William N. Stephens back to the 1880 census. We know his father was Tobe Stephens and his mother was Eolla Halsy or Haley, but we can find no information on either of them. William was born in 1847 and died in 1919, so Tobe Stephens would date to the middle of the 19th century.
