I'm looking for information on Walton and Rebecca (Lanier) HARRIS who moved to Greene County , Ga from Virginia. Walton died in 1809 and Rebecca in 1818, both are buried in Greene County. I am searching for thier children (one is Sampson) and any info i can find on them. If my other research is correct, Sampson was born in Greene County and married a Rebecca Jones also from that county.

Searching for information on Robert Lee HESTER born in Greene Co. Ga. around 1883, died in Bibb Co. Ga. 1956. I know that his father fought in the Civil War, was wounded, came home with bullet lodged in his chest, and died a few years later. I have it on good faith that Abraham LIPHAM was a resident of greene co. He appears in the tax digests for greene co. in 1789 and 1797. He had two of his three sons there. Daniel "lube" brn c1787 and John A. Lipham brn c1790. I hope this info is of some help.

married first Elizabeth JACKSON on February 17, 1844, and married second Frances L. ARNOLD on November 20, 1856. Robert Corlew BOWDEN, born about 1822, and died of typhoid

Henry (1701-1784) and Mary Smith HAYNES (1701-1782) of Spottsylvania & Caroline counties in Virginia and Green and Oglethorpe counties of Georgia (they moved a lot) are the earliest proven ancestors. They had nine children: William, John, Dina(h), Henry, George, Mary, Parmenas, Ann and Betsey. Dina(h), Henry and Betsey married into the English family.

I am looking for the parents of Afro-American William COPELAND/COPLAN b. 8/6/1879 Greene Co., GA. William was raised in OK City, OK by an aunt and uncle whose surname was possibly OVERTREE. He used the surname of OVERTREE all of his life except when he enlisted into the military (Spanish-American War). 1920 IA census showed that he was b. in VA, however, a recent birth certificate of one of his sons showed that he was b. Greene Co., GA in 1884(according to his age in 1919).

I am trying to determine the cemetery where Tobe(possibly a nickname for Obediah) STEPHENS and his wife, Eolla Halsy Stephens are buried. They were the parents of William Neal and Laura M. Stephens, who are buried in Bairds Baptist Cemetery.
