Parts of the Compass Relay

Divide Group into teams of 5 members each

Equipment
  • Container (hat or bowl) with 5 slips of paper reading:
    • Magnetic Needle
    • Orienting Needle
    • Compass Housing
    • Degree readings or bearings
    • Direction of travel arrow

    • 3. To play, line teams up 10 to 15 feet from table, have leaders stand behind table. At given signal, first girls runs to table, draws slip, identifies part of compass indicated on slip -- to leader's satisfaction, then runs back and touches off next girl.
