Anecdotes about Charlotte Morgan Winslow, as written by
her granddaughter Ida Abbe Parker

"Remember hearing my grandmother, Charlotte Morgan, say her father was so nice he had buttered his bread on both sides, and so when my son was having breakfast with us - sitting in a high chair - fussing with a bit of toast - holding it in hand - turning it from one side to the other; I inquired why he didn't eat, he said 'Butter.' I replied, 'It is buttered.' He said, 'Butter other side.' From that moment he was, I felt, rightly named Morgan." (The child's name was Grenville Morgan Parker.)

"Speaking of Bibles, dear grandma used to read morning and nights to me, when I might be visiting her, out of a Bible so large it almost enveloped her - she being a tiny person - but very religious." (Unfortunately, this Bible was destroyed in a fire.)
