I recently completed my BA Honours in psychology with an interest in personality psychology. My thesis was "Personality Correlates of Beliefs About Consciousness and Reality." It was accepted as a poster presentation at the Canadian Psychological Association's Annual Conference, which is in Quebec this year. Although my project started as a replication study, linking facets of "Openness" to scales of the Beliefs About Consciousness and Reality Scale (BACARQ- developed by my advisor, Robert Moore, PhD.,) it branched out to several aspects of personality, including high functioning autism. I find personality psychology or "profiling" extremely interesting and hope to pursue it as a career, possibly on the research side. Last year I completed my B.Sc at the University of Regina, focussing on Environmental Microbiology and Ecology, and minoring in Philosophy. I successfully completed an intensive course in Cree, as part of my language requirement for my B.A. I started learning Plains Cree, Y dialect, and my instructor was a Woodlands Cree. Apparently there are some Northern Cree who can spot my professor's students by their "accents." Along the way to my degrees I have enjoyed taking music, computer science, geology, film, and astronomy. A little bit of everything, you could say, to keep things interesting. I have been accepted into the College of Medicine at the University of Saskatchewan, so if all goes well, that will be keeping me occupied for the next four years. |
Here is a picture of my first Collie. He was a champion and had earned two obedience titles (the equivalent of a Baccalaurate degree and a Master's degree) and had working titles as well. To our knowledge he is the only Collie in Canada to make both the top Obedience Collies list and the top Stud Dog list. Click on his picture to see more Collies, including some of his sons and daughters.
I have served the national breed club for close to 10 years, first as magazine editor, area director for Saskatchewan, and finally as national specialty chair. I was appointed to the constitution committee by the past president. Currently I have stepped back from club activities to concentrate on my career, other hobbies, and to get back into obedience.

I have led communication seminars for the public as well. I was awarded "Toastmaster of the Year" for Area 18 in 1994. Since I am busy with University, I am not as active in Toastmasters, but still belong and occasionally judge public speaking contests when I can arrange my
