"Beauty in our days..."

There's beauty in our days
We seem to have forgotten
Simple little things
Treasures in different ways.

The snowflakes falling on wee little tongues,
Snowangels laying on the front lawn,
Burnings embers glowing strong
Gathering around the hearth in song.

Little feet splashing through puddles and mud,
The years first flourishing rose bud,
Wee tiny hands discovering all thats new,
A beautiful rainbow embracing every hue.

Playgrounds and swings set into motion,
Churches filled with couples pledging love and devotion,
Children frolicking and laughing with glee,
A quiet moment under the tree.

Leaves all turning to brown, red and gold,
Children in piles, a beauty to behold,
Hand knitted sweaters, costumes and treat bags to hold,
The grins from cheek to cheek worth more than gold.

Families gathered at tables all around,
Giving thanks for all the joys they have found,
All the wonders we have that are entirely free,
Health, Happiness, Friends and Family.

Awaking to that first snow covered day,
The first snowman with carrot and beret,
Piles of mittens and boots filled with snow,
Little hands wrapped around mugs of cocoa.

Carols playing while trimming the tree,
Squeals, giggles and shouts of glee,
That card sent from a friend far away,
The spirit of the season shows in every way.

Once again families gather with love,
Special thoughts for those above,
Memories made to treasure and hold dear,
As together we ring in the New Year.

There's beauty in our days
We seem to have forgotten,
Simple little things
Treasures in different ways!
