My mother's paternal grandparents never married. The only information I presently have for his father is a name (Manoel Ferreira), a village of birth (Mello da Serra, Viseu), and his place of residence (New Bedford, MA) when my grandfather was born. His mother, on the other hand, comes to me with ample quantities of documentation. Here is that information, along with some I've managed to dig up on my own.
