~Death~
A million times we needed you,
A million times we cried,
If love alone would have saved you,
You would of never died.
In life we loved you dearly,
In death we love you still,
In our hearts you hold a place,
No one can ever fill.
A light from our household is gone,
A voice from our love is stilled,
A place in our vacant home,
Which never can be filled.
Some may think you are forgotten,
Though on earth you are no more,
But in our memory you are with us,
As you always were before.
It broke our hearts to lose you,
But you did not go alone,
A part of us went with you,
The day God called you home.
Your precious memories are for keepsakes,
with which we never part,
God has you safely in his keeping,
But we have you forever in our hearts.
(Memorial passage for Lindsey Marken's service-died at age 17 from a car wreck.
Submitted by Lindsey's friend Maggie who said she understood
why God wanted Lindsey close to Him.......because she truly was an angel on earth.
Passage written by Lindsey's friend Jennifer.)

All who go.......Go to soon.

Death is just the life's way
of telling you....
you're fired.
(A. Torosian)

Death is the only bitch that never leaves you.
(Ernest Hemingway)
~~~
Death is nothing at all
I have only slipped away
into the next room
I am I and you are you
Whatever we were to each
other
That we are still
Call me by my old
familiar name
Speak to me in the easy
way you always used
Put no difference into
your tone
Wear no forced air of
solemnity or sorrow
Laugh as we always
laughed
At the little jokes we
always enjoyed together
Play, smile, think of
me, pray for me
Let my name be ever the
household word that it always was
Let it be spoken without
effort
Without the ghost of a
shadow in it
Life means all that it
ever meant
It is the same as it
ever was
There is absolute
unbroken continuity
What is death but a
negligible accident?
Why should I be out of
mind
Because I am out of
sight?
I am waiting for you for
an interval
Somewhere very near
Just around the corner
All is well.
Nothing is past; nothing
is lost
One brief moment and all
will be as it was before
How we shall laugh at
the trouble of parting when we meet again!
(Canon
Henry Scott-Holland, 1847-1918, Canon of
Death leaves a heartache no one can heal.
Love leaves a memory no one can steal.
~~~
Die and go above.
I'll always think of you my love.
If you're not there on Judgment Day,
I'll know you've gone the other way.
I'll give the angels back their wings,
golden harps and everything
Just to prove my love is true,
I'd die and go to hell for you.
~~~
Don't grieve for me...for now I'm free.
I'm following the path God laid for me.
I took his hand when I heard his call,
I turned by back and left it all.
I could not stay another day, to love, to work or play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way.
I've found that peace at the close of day.
If my parting has left a void,
the fill it with remembered joy,
a love and friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss.
Ah yes, these things I too will miss.
Be not burdened with times of sorrow,
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My life's been full, I savored so much;
good friends, good times, a loved one's touch.
Don't lengthen it with undue grief.
God wanted me now, he set me free.
named Juliann in memory of her Grandpa R.)
Gentle clouds trace the sweep of your angel wing.
Your smile set the Heavens aglow.
Without you my world is dark and cold.
Shining Star,
I wrap your memory around me
and continue on this path
to find you again.
~~~
God looked around his garden
And he found an empty place
He then looked down upon the earth
And saw your tired face.
He put his arms around you
And lifted you to rest
God's garden must be beautiful
He always takes the best.
He knew that you were suffering
He knew you were in pain;
He knew that you would never
Get well on earth again.
He saw that the road was getting rough
And the hills are hard to climb,
So he closed your weary eyelids
And whispered "Peace be Thine."
It broke our hearts to lose you
But you didn't go alone
For part of us went with you
The day God called you home.

Good friends are hard to find...
and now GOD has taken one of mine.

His Journey's Just Begun...
Don't think of him as gone away...
his journey's just begun,
life holds so many facets...
this earth is only one.
Just think of him as resting
from the sorrows and the tears
in a place of warmth and comfort
where there are no days and years.
Think how he must be wishing
that we could know today
how nothing but our sadness
can really pass away.
And think of him as living
in the hearts of those he touched....
for nothing loved is evenly lost...
and he was loved so much.
(E. Brenneman)

God saw you were getting tired
and a cure was not to be,
so he put his arms around you
and whispered "Come to me...".
With tearful eyes we watched
and saw you pass away.
Although we love you dearly,
we couldn't make you stay.
A golden heart stopped beating,
hard working hands at rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us,
He only takes the best.

If I should ever leave you
of whom I love to go along the Silent Way
grieve not,
nor speak of me with tears,
but laugh and talk of me
as if I were beside you there.
(I'd come - I'd come, could I but find a way !
But would not tears and grief be barriers ? )
And when you hear a song
or see a bird I loved,
please do not let the thought of me be sad...
For I am loving you just as I always have.
You were so good to me !
There are so many things I wanted still to do;
so many things to say to you....
Remember that I did not fear....
It was just leaving you that was so hard to face.
We cannot see Beyond...
But this I know:
I loved you so...t'was Heaven here with you !

If tears could build a stairway,
and memories a lane,
I'd walk right up to heaven
and bring you back again.

Never knock on Death's door.
Just ring the door and run.
He HATES that !!

Not gone....just gone ahead.

Now that you are gone
Now that you are gone
I don't know what to do
I lay down and cry
All I could do is lie
Saying to myself that
You are still here
So I went and sat
To watch the adults
What I saw was my elders weeping
It was like a rainy day
With all the water seeping in
And so it may
Flood the house
But I wouldn't care
I feel like a mouse
Trapped in a corner
And no matter which way I turn
There is something there burning
Stopping my path out
So I just sit there and pout
While I am there thinking
I realize, it's my heart
It's the thing on fire
And keeping me from moving on
Cause I'm afraid once I leave
So will you, and it will become reality
Your really have gone.

Perhaps they are not the stars,
but rather openings in Heaven
where the love of our lost ones
pours through and
shines down upon us
to let us know
they are happy.

Remember friends as you pass by,
As you are now so once was I.
As low as I you once must be,
Prepare yourself and follow me.

To those of you who know him,
and the gracefulness of his touch;
can only make us realize,
the gift of a smile can mean so much.
Though he is absent from us in body,
and has left behind a space;
we can only hope he is at rest finally
with the spirit of GOD, in a better place.
Let us then in love advise those left to remain,
still searching for a clue,
put GOD first and remember your families,
for things like this can happen to you.

UNTIL WE MEET
Weep not for this empty vessel of clay.
Let your tears be tears of joy,
for at last I am away.
Free of the mortal cage
that had bound me here.
Walking with my Savior now,
and with my loved ones dear.
Remember me with a smile upon my face,
For now I'm smiling always,
in this most glorious place.
I walk and talk and smile
without a worry or a care.
I wait for you in heaven.
BE THERE !!

Where have you gone since yesterday
and left us lonely here ?
Today you seem so far away
when yesterday you were near.
No maps of ours that we use
your journey can we trace.
We only know you've reached your home
and see the Fathers face.

You will never see a U-Haul behind a hearse.
The only thing behind a hearse is family and friends, and that's what matters most.
