This cemetery is in Claxton, TN. Turn at the intersection of Edgemore Road and 25W at Claxton Elementary School. Go about a half mile it is on the right. It is on private property, but you can access it from the road.

This cemetery is fenced in, with a locked gate, very overgrown and in a state of disrepair. I have planned a "clean up" of Peoples Cemetery for Saturday, October 23rd, 1999, at 10:00 a.m. We need volunteers to help with the work (we'll have some fun too!). If you are interested in helping with this project please email me. If you plan on coming out to help, bring your lawn equipment. We need rakes, shovels, clippers, gas powered weedeaters, blowers, chain saws, and anything else you think will help us along with the clean up. I'm hoping that this will be a one day project, depending on the number of volunteers that turn out. Come on, join me, this is a very worthwhile project.

Several of my ancestors are buried in this cemetery. Family legend has been passed down, stating that my great great great grandfather, Spencer Altum was buried at Peoples. To date I have not found the documented proof needed to substantiate this statement.
