Georgia, Franklin County - This Indenture made this twenty eighth day of December in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and fifteen Between Richard Chandler of the County and State afforesaid of the one part and Benjamine Childs of the same place of the other part.  Witnesseth, that the said Richard Chandler for an inconsideration of the sum of one hundred and ninety eight dollars and fifty cents to him in hand paid by said Childs at an before the sealing and delivering of these presents the receipt of which is herby acknowledged hath bargained sold.......and delivered to Benjamin Childs his heirs or assigns a certain tract or parcel of land situated lying and being in the County and State afforesaid on the waters Bear Creek and Bounded as followeth - beginning on a Red Oak corner thence S 30 W 28.50 to a post oak X thence N 77 W 64.50 to a pine corner thence to a pine corner, thence a straight line to the beginning corner - it being part of a tract of land surveyed by Thomas Harrington to have and to hold the said parcel of land containing one hundred ninety eight and one half acres be the same more or less - to the proper use of said Childs his heirs or assigns forever and the said Richard Chandler doth warrant and forever defend the said tract or parcel of land to said Benjamine Childs his heirs.....against the challenge claim or demand of him said Chandler his heirs and .....forever, and against the lawful claim of all and every other person or persons whatsoever as witness of which this said Richard Chandler hath hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal this day and date above written.
