We have bought a 7 month female, she is AKC reg., wonderful temperment. All of our friends think that she is pretty and the perfect baby for us. Only thing that hurts is, they say she is not a real GSD because she is silver and black. More silver with a very light black saddle. Her Sire was white, Bitch, silver and Black. We are not going to breed her, but it bothers us, that friends make these re arks. Are there silver colored GSDs?Please let us know by E-Mail. We will frame your answer.

I'm sitting here, crying my eyes out after reading the tribute poem to Cody....I had to put my beloved German Shepherd, Nikki, to sleep 2years ago, and to this day....I still cry whenever I see pictures of GSD's!!!!....She was my constant companion for 11 1/2 years...THANK YOU for this WONDERFUL web page!!!!!...She was a full bred but not a champion....never showed her in the ring....but she was MY champion...someday I will get not one more...but TWO more puppies....no other breed of dog, in my opinion, is as regal, loving, loyal, or compassionate as the German Shepherd!!!!!!...Thank You again for sharing your love of the Shepherds with everyone!!!!!....God Bless You All....and your LOVELY dogs too!!!!!

Nice web site, very informative. We just got a female GSD and are trying to learn all we can about the breed. She is nearly 16 weeks old and a pleasure to have around - just a little too smart for her own good right now. She is begining to be quite the protector and has dominated our 5 yr old male German Short-haired Pointer, and is establishing her dominance among our 4 cats - she loves the one male tabby, however. We got 2 puppies @ 8 weeks old, so my husband and I could raise and train our pupies together. We started out with obedience training and some tracking. Our puppies did very well. Then we started some schutzhund training and we noticed the puppies expecially the male was starting to walk funny. We took them in and both have extreme hip dysplasia and their only 6 mos.old. The vet says total hip replacements on both. $8,000 per dog. We can't afford $16,000. His second option was to put th m to sleep. He thinks they will be in alot of pain as they get older. (1 to 2 yrs) Maybe you have dealt with this, If so we would appreicate any advice. Thank You, Kristi Chesley p.s. The vet did say both dogs hips are totally out of the socket.

I certainly enjoyed your site! What gorgeous babies you have. We are the proud parents of Kopek (3 yr old male) & Reba (6 yr old female). They are truely our children now that ours are grown & gone. We've had Kopek since a pup & just "rescued" Reba from a home that did not have the time or energy for her. Her first owner was a sheriff who tried to make her mean enough for law enforcement work by beating her. Her 5+ generations of solid German breeding speak soundly in the fact that she would not turn mean nd is now one of the most loving dogs I've ever met. We feel so blessed to have her. Kopek is our baby...still sleeps with us & follows our every step. There's no dog like a shepard! Am looking forward to trying some of your recipes...with a few additions to palatize them they sound good enough for humans!
