BARBARA A. MARTIN is a native of North Carolina, and was born December 24,
1828.  Her parents (John W. and Mary A. Warren Miller) emigrated to Morgan
County, Ind., where, January 28, 1849, she was united in marriage to Dr.
Isaac Martin, a native of Monroe County, who died about 1873, having been
the father of nine children, four of whom are living--William A., John M.,
Mary S. (Mrs. Russell) and James L.  The parents of Dr. Martin were early
settlers of Monroe County, and had traded considerably with the Indians.
