LINDEN LAUGHLIN is a native of Owen County, Ind., was born May 9, 1832, and
is directly descended from William and Nancy (Mackindley) Laughlin, natives
respectively of Tennessee and Indiana, and of Irish extraction.  They were
parents of four children, namely:  Mary J., John, Matilda and Linden.  The
subject of this sketch, Linden Laughlin, married, January 11,1856, in this
county, Miss Mary, daughter of William and Sarah Sraver, and a native of
this county, born October 25, 1835.   This union was endeared and cemented
by the blessing of two children--Francis M. and Margaret J., both of whom
are deceased.  Mr. Laughlin is a well-known and much-respected citizen.
